The Royal York Girls Pee Wee (u14) Select Cardinals had a highly successful 2018 season!
Among the many highlights were the following:
- As the only all-girls team in the 9 team EBA Select League, recorded 11 wins against only 4 losses, good for second place overall, finishing first with the fewest runs against, and second in runs scored.
- At the Barrie Select Tournament in July, the girls finished with a record of 3 wins and 1 loss, outscoring their opponents by a total of 58-29 over the course of the weekend.
- For the first time ever, a Canadian team won games at the US Nationals Baseball for All in Rockford, Illinois in early August, as the girls outscored regional travel teams from Boston, New York, LA, DC and Chicago by a total of 57-29 over 5 games.
- For the first time ever, represented Ontario at the Western Canadian Baseball Association U14 Championships in Edmonton, AB. As the only club team in the tournament, playing against Provincial U14 select teams from BC, Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba, the Cardinals did Ontario proud, bringing home the bronze medal, culminated by a dramatic 13-9 comeback win over host Alberta in the final game.
