A WELCOME NOTE

RYBL would like to welcome all players, coaches, team managers and families to the Cardinals Mid-Summer Classic 16U AA Tournament (July 10th – July 12th, 2026).

  • Tournament Dates: Friday, July 10th – Sunday, July 12th
  • Entry Fee: $675.00
  • Tournament Details: The Tournament will be a 12 team Tournament. Each team will be guaranteed a minimum of 3 games. All games will be played at Connorvale North & South and Tom Riley. All teams will play 1 game Friday, 2 Saturday with the Playoffs on Sunday.
  • Tournament Format: Teams will be split into 3 pools of 4 teams. The 3 pool winners and 1 Wild Card will advance to the playoff round.

The schedule will be updated live during the tournament. You can share this link with families, grandparents, anyone who follows you on Team Snap or Game Changer. (LINK)

The schedule and results will also be posted at the tournament HQ tent located under the big tree at the foot of the stairs by the washroom building. (At Etobicoke Valley Park).

RULES

Equivalent to the OBA Select rules (with possible minor changes TBC) will apply to each respective age division.

Please note there are two sections to the rules ….. the General Rules and the Rookieball-specific Rules.

EMERGENCY MEDICAL CARE

The closest Urgent Care Centre (Emergency Room) to the park is five (5) minutes from the park: Queensway Urgent Care Centre, 150 Sherway Drive.

COMMUNICATION 

In the event of an emergency or last-minute schedule change, we will call the key contact, game day phone number, identified on your registration form. General, tournament-wide information will be distributed via this email distribution list and via social media noted below.

ROSTERS and PLAYER ID

As a reminder, please bring a printout of your team’s Local Association approved roster (as printed out from the OBA roster registration data base) complete with your OBA Team #.

You do not need to show proof of age for players, but you should have it available should there be a question posed.   Proof of age is the document photocopied (or e-image print outs) of government issue documents (birth certificate, passport, statement of live birth). You noted on the official approved roster. This requirement is outline in rules here:

  • 3.2 All teams should register with the onsite convenor at least ONE HOUR prior to their first game.
  • 3.3 A copy of the team roster listing all players, coaches and including sweater numbers must be presented to the OBA Select Division On-Site Convenor at the time of registration.
  • 3.4 A copy of each player’s government issued documentation that identifies proof of birthdate must be available.

These documents must be presented at the Registration Table when you check in prior to your first game. (Look for the tent under the tree at the foot of the stairs by the washroom building). Once verified all documents will be returned to you same day (likely within two hours while you play your first game).

Please note the Park information presented below relates to Etobicoke Valley Park. However, on Friday September 2nd we will also play 4 games at Don Russell Park (400 Kipling Ave. Etobicoke M8V 2E6)
