T-BALL SUMMER STARS
A Note From Your T-Ball Summer Stars Convenors
I am thrilled to welcome back Summer Stars T-Ball for the 2024 Summer and Fall season.
Please review the following details carefully
** All information is preliminary and may be subject to change.
AGE GROUP
For 2024, Summer Stars will only be available to children born in 2017 who played in the 2024 RYBL Senior T-Ball division. “Play Up” scenarios will not be considered.
ABOUT THE GAME
Summer Stars T-Ball is the third level of baseball, with more instruction regarding the rules of the game (i.e., outs and scores). The focus remains on having FUN while continuing to develop the fundamentals of throwing, catching, fielding, hitting & team play. Softer baseballs and regulation aluminum bats are used. The field is set up with three bases on a smaller baseball field (60ft between bases) with a Tee for players to hit off.
ABOUT THE SEASON
The season is 12 weeks in duration. The first week of play, July 3rd, will consist of a practice only with 10 games to follow with the potential for a playoff scenario during the last week.
Children of all abilities are welcome and the emphasis will always be on FUN but there will be a new challenge of keeping score. Parents please be a good judge of your child’s ability to cope. Please see T-Ball Summer Stars Rules for your review.
There will be an attempt to make teams as balanced as possible through the registration process. Please note that players may be moved between teams in order to achieve that.
REGISTRATION
Registration will open mid May, please stay tuned to the website for more details.
Please note the registration portal will close when we have met our capacity. To be placed on a waitlist please send an email to info@rybl.com with your details.
EXPECTED SCHEDULE
There will be 1 game every Wednesday, with a rain-out date on Thursdays (if needed.)
Games will start at 6:30pm through July and early August, moving to 6pm in mid August depending on daylight hours.
DIAMOND LOCATION
All games will be held on the diamonds at Humber Valley Park.
COACH VOLUNTEERS
Similar to our spring House-league division, we are only as successful as the parents who volunteer to coach. This league will not happen without you. We will need at minimum 2 coaches for each team (ideally 3 with 1 parent listed as Head Coach). Please be open to helping in any capacity! Please review the Coaching FAQs for further information.
PLAY WITH REQUESTS
RYBL allows for Reciprocal Play-With Requests, per the play-with policy on the RYBL Website. This means that if your child would like to play with another child, please select that particular child during your Registration; and the other parent must do likewise. We will do our best to accommodate but there will be no guarantee. Multiple play-with (e.g., listing a number of players in the Play-With field) will not be considered.
Thank you sincerely for your interest in the Summer Stars T-Ball for 2024; I look forward to meeting you all soon!
