GIRLS BANTAM DIVISION

A Note From Your Girls Bantam Convener

Thank you for your interest in Royal York’s Girls Bantam House League Program!

This program is geared towards players born in 2007, 2008, 2009, and 2010. Our goal for the program is to foster a baseball league exclusively for girls, focusing on skills development, competitiveness, and fun.

We anticipate having four teams playing in this division this year, with the season operating in May and June, and playoffs to be held during the first three weeks of September. During the season, players can expect to have one practice and two games per week; practices will typically be held between Monday and Friday, and games will be scheduled any time between Monday and Saturday.

SCHEDULE

Team schedules and other pertinent information will be communicated via email to all registrants in mid to late April.

EQUIPMENT

All players must provide the following pieces of equipment: a CSA-approved batting helmet, a baseball glove, and baseball cleats (metal or molded). Included in the registration fee for this league, Royal York Baseball League will provide a full baseball uniform (i.e., hat, jersey, pants, socks, and belt). In this division, aluminum bats must be used; wooden bats are prohibited. Players are permitted to bring their own bats, but team bats will also be provided.

DIAMONDS

We expect all games to be scheduled at any of the following baseball diamonds:

  • Ourland Park (36 Ourland Avenue, Etobicoke, Ontario, M8Z 4E1)
  • Queensway Park South (8 Avon Park Drive, Etobicoke, Ontario, M8Z 3X3)
  • Tom Riley Park (3216 Bloor Street West, Toronto, Ontario, M8X 1Z4)
  • Connorvale Park South (281 Rimilton Avenue, Etobicoke, Ontario, M8W 2E5)
  • Millwood Park (4370 Bloor Street West, Etobicoke, Ontario, M9C 2A6)

We will use a variety of practice diamonds, all of which will be in the Etobicoke area.

PLAY WITH REQUESTS

Please note that only one “reciprocal” play-with request will be considered in accordance with the RYBL Reciprocal Play-With Policy. In summary, if a player would like to play on the same team as another player, both players must indicate as such on their respective registration forms. To preserve the spirit of the league, non-reciprocal play-with requests and multiple play-with requests will not be considered.

REGISTRATION

Registration for the 2024 season will open in early February. All leagues have a maximum number of permitted registrations, so register early to guarantee acceptance to the league.
