BOYS BANTAM DIVISION

A Note From Your Boy’s Bantam Convener

Thank you for your interest in Royal York’s Boy’s Bantam House League Program! Please consider the information below closely, as it should provide some answers to your questions.

This program is geared towards players born in 2009 and 2010. House League is the foundation of our association and we welcome a wide range of ability and experience from beginners of organized baseball to players that have started from as early as Blastball. We also would like to endorse and welcome any parents or volunteers to consider coaching. We offer a ton of resources and tools and work closely with our Player & Coach Development Head, Denny Berni, who continues doing a great job maximizing our coaches skill set, baseball IQ & overall passion to teach the game to our kids.

If interested in summer baseball, a summer instructional program will be offered by the Baseball Professionals at Pro Teach Baseball, in conjunction with RYBL, at an additional cost. Please see the following URL for further information on Summer programs: https://proteach.net/index.php/site/shop?category=10

SCHEDULE

Your son’s team will receive communication vie email or phone call between Mid-Late April from their Head Coach on scheduling details, Pre Season Pro Teach Workout, expectations, etc… We run our regular season in May & June, with the league recommencing in September for Playoffs. This gives you the flexibility to enjoy an uninterrupted summer and being more eager than ever to get back on the field for some late summer ball. Your son will on average have 2 games a week with 1 practice. We play one game on a weekday and a game on Saturdays. Practice days will be a weekday.

INTERLOCK

We are very pleased to announce that we will once be interlocking with Bloordale Baseball for the 2024 season. This has been a very positive and rewarding relationship over our many years and gives a more diverse and competitive feel to the Boy’s Bantam Division. We MAY also be joined by The Royal York Girls Bantam House League Program but those details are still TBD (To be determined). We anticipate having anywhere from a 6-8 team loop in 2024.

EQUIPMENT

All players in Bantam must bring their own CSA-approved batting helmet. The only other required pieces of equipment are a glove and baseball cleats. We provide a full uniform at our Pre Season Clinics (Hat, Jersey, Socks, Belt, Pants).

This means that if your son would like to play with another boy, he must select that boy on his Registration, and the other boy must also select your son on his Registration. (Unfortunately “Non-Reciprocal” Play-With Requests will be rejected, and “Multiple” Play-With Requests will be rejected. However, all efforts will be made to accommodate proper Reciprocal Play-With Requests.)

REGISTRATION

Please register by March 1, 2024 to maximize the chances of ensuring a spot in the 2024 Boy’s Bantam House League, and taking advantage of all possible early-bird savings opportunities.

EXPECTATION

This is the League’s next to highest senior level where baseball is played. Emphasis is still placed on skills development; however position play and strategy become incrementally more important. FUN and team spirit are paramount.

Thank you for your interest in RYBL, and in the Boy’s Bantam House League Division for 2024.
