Please see the Registration Form.

If a player does not make a Rep team, they are welcome to attend the tryout for the age appropriate Select team. No additional registration is necessary.

No. You can choose to try out for Rep and/or Select. You do not have to try out for Rep in order to try out for a Select team.

The tryouts will begin in early September at diamonds in Etobicoke. Make sure to arrive on time to ensure you don’t miss any of the action!

Tryouts Schedule

We highly recommend attending both tryouts in order to increase your chances of making a team. If you are unable to attend, please reach out to the tryout contact to see if other arrangements can be made, or what their policy is on attendance.

In case of inclement weather, we may have contingency plans or alternate dates set. The tryout schedule is live and will be updated accordingly. Please check prior to leaving for the tryout. (Tryout Schedule)

Tryouts will involve a combination of warm-up drills, batting practice, fielding exercises, and pitching evaluations (10U and up). Coaches will assess participants’ skills, teamwork, and attitude in a supportive and positive atmosphere.

Parents and guardians are welcome to attend and support their young athletes from the designated viewing areas. However, we kindly ask that they allow the participants and coaches to focus on the tryout activities.

Note: Please ensure that at least one parent/guardian remains at tryout fields at all times.

After the tryouts, coaches will review the performance of all participants and choose players for the RYBL teams. If you are chosen, you will receive further instructions on team assignments, practices, and other important details.

YES. All divisions up to 13U are required to play House League in order to be on the Select team. Players on the 15U and older teams are not required to play House League. Once you register for your Select team, you will automatically be placed on a House League team.

Releases are required when the person trying out has playing rights owned by a team outside of the TBA. In this case, a release is required before the player can tryout with RYBL. For specific information on release scenarios, email info@rybl.com.

Select baseball is typically the next level of increased competition and commitment up from House League baseball. Select teams play against other teams in Etobicoke and surrounding areas. You must play House League in order to be on an RYBL Select team until 15U.

Rep baseball is typically another level of competition and commitment above Select baseball, and is further subdivided into two tiers, “AA” and “A”. Your team represents RYBL across Toronto and York Region, with travel to other areas for tournaments.

RYBL holds OBA Rep team tryouts on a combined waterfall basis, with all players interested in playing AA or A asked to attend the combined tryout for their particular age-group. If you feel your son or daughter is capable of playing baseball at this level, please bring him or her to the tryout irrespective of their current level of baseball; each tryout participant will be given a fair evaluation.

Following selection of the AA/A teams, further tryouts will be held for Select teams at each Division, and will be posted in this document. Please note the RYBL’s Rep teams are open to boys and girls, who will be evaluated based solely on the basis of talent/merit. RYBL reserves the right to field only one Rep Team in any particular age-group, which is dependent on, among other things, expected levels of competitiveness. (Tryout Schedule.)

If a player does not make a Rep team, they are welcome to attend the tryout for the age appropriate Select team. No additional registration is necessary.
