SENIOR T-BALL DIVISION

A Note From Your Senior T-Ball Convener

Thank you for your interest in the 2024 Senior Co-ed T-Ball season with Royal York Baseball League Inc. Please consider the information below closely.

**All information is preliminary and may change based on final registration numbers and diamond allocations.

AGE GROUP

For 2024, Sr. T-Ball will consist of players born in 2017 and 2018.

ABOUT THE GAME

Sr. T-Ball is the second level of baseball, with more instruction regarding the rules of the game “i.e., outs”.  The focus remains on having FUN while learning the basics: throwing, catching, fielding, hitting & team play.  Softer baseballs and regulation aluminum bats are used.  The field is set up with three bases on a smaller baseball field (60ft between bases) with a Tee for players to hit off.

EXPECTED SCHEDULE

During the season, which begins the first week of May, there will be:

  • One combination practice/game on a weekday at 6:30pm
  • One combination practice/game each Saturday, morning or afternoon.

NEW FOR 2024:

There will be 2 options this year for weeknight play.  Parents can choose to have their games on Monday/Wednesdays (and always Saturdays) OR Tuesdays/Thursdays (and always Saturdays).

REGISTRATION

The registration portal will close when we have met our capacity.  To be placed on a waitlist please send an email to info@rybl.com with your details and preferred weeknight of play.

DIAMOND LOCATIONS

All combination practices/games are expected to be held at one or more of the following Etobicoke parks:

  • Humber Valley diamonds (North/Central/South) – 54 Anglesey Blvd
  • Mimico Memorial – 75 Hillside Ave

UNIFORMS and EQUIPMENT

All players will be provided a jersey and hat.  Please have your child wear running shoes and pants, even on hot days.  Slips and trips on dirt/gravel infields in shorts don’t make for a fun day.

Please bring a glove, water bottle and a well-fitting batting helmet.  Each coach will have 1 or 2 helmets available as backups only.  Please do not rely on these helmets as your child’s “regular” helmet – there will not be enough for the 3 base runners and a batter on deck.

COACH VOLUNTEERS

RYBL is the best youth baseball association in Etobicoke because of the dedication of its parent Coach Volunteers. Please consider expressing your interest in coaching or assisting on your child’s registration application. If you are open to the possibility of coaching, even as an assistant please reach out to me (no previous experience is required)! All coaches are supported with initial training and continuous group communication to ensure you and your team’s success on the field.

PLAY-WITH REQUESTS

RYBL allows for Reciprocal Play-With Requests, per the play-with policy on the RYBL Website. This means that if your child would like to play with another child, please select that particular child during your Registration; and the other parent must do likewise. Multiple play-with (e.g., listing a number of players in the Play-With field will unfortunately not be considered. All efforts will be made, however, to accommodate properly made Reciprocal Play-With Requests!  All Play-With requests must be submitted prior to April 1, 2024.

WHAT ELSE IS INCLUDED?

  • Player Clinics. Each player will have the opportunity to meet their team and take part in a baseball clinic run by ProTeach Instructors during the last 2 weeks of April. One combo practice/game each Saturday anytime.
  • The registration fee covers 1 individual photo and 1 team photo. Photo days are held at the ProTeach facility on a weekend in May.

I look forward to seeing you on the field this spring, and if you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.
